Why do we call it RALLY SUNDAY?
When you hear that Rally Sunday is coming the first thing you probably think about is Sunday School. Rally Sunday has traditionally been the first day of Sunday School but it means so much more than that.
Definitions of rally
to muster for a common purpose
to come together again to renew an effort
to join in a common cause
This coming Rally Sunday on Sept. 10th we will be “GEARING UP FOR GOD!” and it won’t just be about the Sunday School kids! It is about everyone in the church coming together to RALLY around the Mission and get GEARED UP!
As the Children, Youth and Family Director I am very excited to be a part of the faith formation of our young people. I am only one piece of the puzzle, however. It has been said that you can’t have a strong youth ministry without a strong adult ministry that includes worship participation, adult faith formation/education and service to others. In other words, the children are watching!
1Peter 4:10 says
For each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied Grace
All are invited to come on Sept. 10th to feel the ENERGY of Rally Sunday! We will “muster for a common purpose, come together to renew an effort and join in the common cause!”
I look forward to see everyone on September 10th!
