Visitation Pastor~ We are very excited to Welcome Pastor Cindy Gray as our new Visitation Pastor! She will officially start in August but will be joining us for service the next couple Sundays. Please introduce yourself and welcome her to the Grace family!
Pastor Cindy Gray was introduced during both services on Sunday (June 25th) as Grace’s new Visitation Pastor. She enjoyed meeting some congregation members and attending our services. She will officially start Aug.1st but will be available for back up if needed during the month of July. Pastor Cindy will be joining us again on July 2nd so if you missed her on Sunday please introduce yourself and welcome her.
Pastor Cindy is recently retired from Bethlehem Lutheran in Aitkin, MN and currently lives in Sandstone, MN with her husband Jim Sodergren, also a retired pastor from Grasston. They were married just over a year ago so are “newlyweds”. In 1993 she adopted her first daughter Kate from India and two years later adopted her second daughter Christine, also from India. Pastor Cindy served as an associate pastor for 2 years in Flandread, SD. She then spent 15 years as pastor at Our Saviors Lutheran in Aurora, MN. Her last call was for 12 years as the pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran.
Pastor Cindy attended high school and community college in Hibbing, MN and still has family there. She graduated from Mankato State University in 1977. 10 years later she graduated from Luther Seminary and has been ordained for 30 years.
Pastor Cindy’s main role will be with our home bound congregation members and helping with services at St. Claire’s and Eastwood. She will join in Sunday congregation life periodically so will eventually become a familiar face to everyone. We are very excited to be moving forward with this piece of our transition puzzle by welcoming her!
